In 2024, the very first Sierra HD Denali Ultimate is going to be released and will be available at Coulter Buick GMC Phoenix. It will feature increased power underneath the hood, a long list of technologies for trailering, and a comfortable, yet refined interior that focuses on the driver and passengers.
This is the first time that the Sierra HD will have a Denali Ultimate trim. This trim was first introduced in 2022 when the GMC Sierra 1500 received a full refresh. Next was the 2023 GMC Yukon. The trims for the 2024 Sierra HD Denali Ultimate will start at Pro (the base version) and go all the way up to the new Denali Ultimate edition. Later in 2024, it is expected for GMC to release a Sierra HD AT4X trim.
What’s Underneath the Hood?
The Denali Ultimate edition of the 2024 GMC Sierra HD will be powered by only one engine option: a 6.6L V8 L5P Duramax turbodiesel engine. This engine is rated at 470 hp and 975 pound-feet of torque, which is a 25% power boost from the previous refresh of 445 hp and 910 torque. It will have an Allison brand 10-speed automatic transmission.
This heavy-duty pickup truck will ride on the GM T1 platform, which has proven its capability and have a maximum towing capacity of 36,000 pounds.
Exterior Features
The 2024 GMC Sierra HD Denali Ultimate’s exterior is bold and makes a statement immediately. Completely redesigned, the Denali Ultimate Sierra HD will feature a unique and sophisticated grille, along with GMC badging in chrome. It will come equipped with the GMC MultiPro Tailgate and power assist side steps that feature LED perimeter lights. It will ride on Ultra-Bright 20-inch Aluminum wheels that are exclusive to the truck and feature High Gloss Black accents.
What to Expect on the Inside
Being a Denali Ultimate, it is expected for the interior of this heavy-duty pickup truck to be quite luxurious—and it is! The cabin is all-new for 2024 and features a 13.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch diagonal driver information center. Unlike the Denali where this feature is optional, the 15-inch Heads-Up Display will be standard on the Denali Ultimate.
The 2024 Denali Ultimate will come with appointed with exclusive full-grain Alpine Umber leather upholstery, as well as open-pore, authentic Paldao wood, that features small unique details that include Denali Ultimate badging and a topographical map of Mt. Denali. The interior also features a premium microsuede headliner, power sunroof, 16-way power adjustable front seats (that massage!), and a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system. The interior will also have stainless-steel speaker grilles, which complement the premium audio system nicely.
The Sierra HD Denali Ultimate 2024 edition will also come equipped with a standard rear camera mirror that features a full camera display.
Safety Features
The 2024 Denali Ultimate trim, along with all other GMC Sierra HD models in 2024, will have the GMC Pro Safety collection of safety and driver assistance technologies. This includes lane departure warning, forward collision alert, following distance indicator, emergency automatic braking, IntelliBeam auto high beams, and front pedestrian braking, with the latter being brand-new for the year.
The Pro Safety Plus technology package will be available and includes additional safety and driver aids like Trailor Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Braking.
Some of the trailering techniques feature on the Denali Ultimate trim for the 2024 GMC Sierra HD includes enhanced exhaust brake performance that allows for better control while towing, improved engine braking that features uprated valve springs and a more powerful turbo vane actuator, and up to 14 different camera views for more confidence while pulling a trailer.
