Buick did not make any significant changes to the Encore GX for the 2023 model year. This crossover SUV is on the small side and is ideal for those that want a vehicle that is higher off the ground than a car but still drives like a car. The only addition buyers will find with the newest Encore GX model is the additional paint option of Moonstone Gray Metallic. However, there is still a lot to love about the Buick Encore GX.
Safety First
The safety of a car is a critical piece, and the Encore GX doesn’t disappoint. It comes with a wide range of safety features which include lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and forward collision alert. Optional safety features include a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, and rear park assist. These features help drivers stay alert and aware of their surroundings while avoiding accidents.
Engine Options
The Encore GX comes with two engines from which you can choose. The base model is a 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbocharged engine with 137 horsepower and 162 lb.-ft of torque. You can choose to upgrade to a 1.3-liter turbocharged engine that gives you 155 horsepower and 174 lb.-ft of torque. Both engines come with a continuously variable transmission.
The Encore comes with all-wheel drive (AWD) that has an electronic coupling system. The system distributes torque between the front and rear axles as needed. It can send as much as 50% of the torque to the rear wheels in wet conditions. This system provides enhanced traction and stability even in the worst weather.
Trim Levels
The Buick Encore GX comes with three trim level options.
Buick Encore GX Preferred
Preferred is the base level and has a wide range of standard features. This trim includes LED headlights and taillights, a rear camera, and safety features. In addition, it has an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with a six-speaker audio system. This trim also comes with a 1.2-liter turbocharged engine.
2023 Buick Encore GX Select
Select is the middle of the road trim. It builds on the preferred trim by adding some nice extras. This trim jumps up to the larger 1.30-liter turbocharged engine. It also includes a leather wrapped steering wheel, rear park assists, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat.
2023 Buick Encore GX Essence
Essence is the top-of-the-line trim level. It offers premium features, including heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and leather upholstery. It also includes a panoramic sunroof and power liftgate. In addition, this trim level offers some additional driver assistance features such as rear cross traffic alert, lane change alert, and blind spot monitoring.
2023 Buick Encore GX Interior Design
The Encore GX provides comfortable seating for five passengers. It offers the best comfort and convenience with its well-designed interior. There is more than enough headroom and legroom for all passengers. You will find options like heated and ventilated front seats, keyless entry and ignition, and leather upholstery. The power liftgate is easy to open and close with a simple push of a button.
Infotainment System
Every trim level in the Encore has an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This system is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. This easy to use system is incredibly responsive and has many useful features, including Bluetooth and voice recognition. In addition, this infotainment system has a built-in hotspot and comes with a six-speaker audio system.
